Baby & Toddler Groups taking place in Berkshire – Updated for 2025

Are you a new parent? Or perhaps new to the area?

Baby & Toddler groups can be a great way to meet other parents and get your children socialising with other little ones of a similar age. We are very lucky to have many groups in West Berkshire and we have put together a handy list below.

West Berkshire’s Family Well-being Hubs also run several groups, for more information on these you can visit the West Berkshire Council website.

Some groups will require you to book in advance and please check that all details are correct and up to date before going along to a group listed below – days, times and venues can change and cancellations do happen so we advise contacting the groups directly before visiting.

Monday

Teas, Toys and Tots Playgroup in Greenham – 9.30am-11:30am during term time. St Mary’s Church, New Road, Greenham, RG19 8RZ. Suggested £1 Donation.

Tots at TMC – Under 2’s only – 10am-11.30am during term time. Tilehurst Methodist Church, 26 School Road, Tilehurst, RG31 5AN. FREE admission. Advance booking required. To register for a session please click HERE.

Great Shefford Under 5’s – 9.30am-11am during term time. Great Shefford Village Hall, Station Road, Great Shefford, RG17 7DR. £3 per family.

Hidden Treasures – 10am-11:15am during term time. St Nicolas Church, West Mills, Newbury, RG14 5HG. Suggested donation of £1 per person. Bookings go live on a Wednesday evening, and you need to be quick to grab a spot!

Tiny Treasures – . 1:30-3pm A group for babies and their parents/carers -term time. only. For babies from newborn age to crawling/cruising (approx 18 months) and their grown-ups. There is a sensory room, baby toys and plenty of tea/coffee and cake, and finish with a time of singing. No booking required. Contact sarah@st-nics.org if you would like more details!

Weller Wizzies – 10:30am-12pm & Messy Play from 1pm-2pm. Weller Centre, 110 Amersham Road, Reading, RG4 5NA. Just turn up – suggested donation of 50 pence.

Tuesday

Baby Song, Salvation Arm – 10am-11:30am during term time. Salvation Army, Northcroft lane, Newbury, RG14 1 BU, £1.50 per child. (cash) Lovely, relaxed group, especially good for young babies. Songs, Play time and Tea and Coffee served. No bookings necessary.

Basildon Baby & Toddler Group –10am-11:30am during term time. Village Hall, Bethesda Street, Upper Basildon, Reading, RG8 8NU. £2 per child & £1 per adult (includes a snack.)

Rainbow Activity Centre – Birth – Pre-School – 10am – 11.30am. Kennet Christian Centre, Enborne Road, Newbury, RG14 6AH. Adults and children 6 months plus £1.50 each including all activities and a snack. Babies 0 – 6 months are free. (Free hardship passes are available). Online booking essential – please click HERE.

Meeting Point – 9:45am-11:15am during term time. Saint Mary’s Church, Church Road, Shaw, Newbury, RG14 2DR.

Kingsclere Village Bunnies – 9am-11am including during school holidays. Kingsclere Village Club, 35 George Street, Kingsclere, RG20 5NH. No need to book, just turn up and pay as you go. The price is £2.50, then 50p for an extra child and £1 for an extra adult.

Purley Tots Toddler Group – 0 – 3 years from 9.45am-11.15am. St Mary’s Church, St Mary’s Avenue, Purley-on-Thames, RG8 8BJ. £3 per session (£1 for under 6 months) refreshments for adults (tea/coffee and biscuits) and children (water/juice, biscuits and fruit) included in the price. Play & Bee Together Toddler Group – 9.30am-11am during term time. Thatcham Catholic Hall, Bath Road, Thatcham, RG18 3AG. £6.50 for one adult and one child.

St B’s Baby Café in Thatcham – 10.30am-12pm during term time. Old Bluecoat School, Chapel Street, Thatcham, RG18 4QN. Cake & company for parents & babies. FREE to attend, just drop in.

Old Windsor Tiddlers & Toddlers – 3 months plus – 9:15am-11am. Scout Hut, Queen’s Close, Old Windsor, SL4 2PR. £1 per adult, 50 pence per child (6 months plus). Refreshments for adults & children.

Brightwalton Baby and Toddler Group – 9am-10:45am during term time. Brightwalton Village Hall, Common Lane, Brightwalton, RG20 7BN. £3 per family. Includes refreshments and you can enjoy your first session for £1

Cornwell 0-5’s Group – For childminders only – 10am-12pm during term time. Cornwell Centre, 4 Home Croft, Tilehurst, RG31 5WJ. A group for childminders with children under the age of 5. £3.50 per childminder.

Twin Club Newbury – Runs every other Friday from 9:30am-12:30pm. Ecchinswell Village Hall & Recreational Centre, Ecchinswell Road, Ecchinswell, RG20 4UB. A supportive coffee play morning for families of twins or multiples – £5 per family.

St Peter’s Toddler Group – 10am-11.30am. St Peter’s Church, Southend Road, Bradfield Southend, RG7 6EY. £1.50 per family.

Ladybugs Playgroup – 9:30am-11am during term time. Hungerford Youth and Community Centre, Priory Road, Hungerford, RG17 0AL. £2.50 per family – snacks included.

Bucklebury Baby & Toddler Group – 9:30am-11am during term time. Upper Bucklebury Memorial Hall, Broad Lane, Upper Bucklebury, RG7 6QH. £1 for under 6 months, £2 for an adult and 1 child, £3.50 for an adult and 2 or more children. Snacks & drink for children & hot drink for adults.

Noah’s Ark – 10am-11.30am during term time. St James the Less Church, Pangbourne Hill, Pangbourne, RG8 7AX. No charge but donations towards the running costs are always gratefully received. Refreshments available.
